Brainstorming
Like many of the others, I also had a hard time trying to find a topic for my proposal essay. It seemed like my classical argument essay was more of a proposal essay because there is a clear problem and solution. I thought of a few different topics but I needed to get one that I feel really strongly about. As of now I am going to write about our environmental issues and how we are contributing to our own downfall. The solution would be how we can help and what we can do to fix the problems with our environment. This is topic I am settling for right now but if I think of something more interesting as I do my research I will probably change.

I think it always helps to right about a topic that you feel strong about because it makes writing the essay so much easier. I think that the topic that you have chosen is very good. I feel that it is a very broad topic though and you might want to consider focusing it more on a specific area like what parts in the United States need the most help. I also think that because it is such a big topic you might want to learn and research about more solutions. I feel that it would be helpful to address why we haven't been able to fix this problem in the United States.
I wrote about environmental issues for my proposal paper also, but I agree that you should narrow your topic some so that your paper can focus on an idea. Maybe you could focus on one type of pollution that is harming our environment, like air, water, or ground pollution?
